SB Independent 5K (3.1 Miles)
The SB Independent 5K kicks off on State Street and heads west on Cabrillo Blvd before winding through downtown and around local landmarks. Just like the Half Marathon, 5K runners & walkers will descend down the historic State Street promenade for a one-of-a-kind fast finish!

2023 is our biggest year yet! To accommodate the growing race we will send off 3-4 waves of runners approx. 5mins a part. Please align yourself in the start corral according to your pace. Looking to win? Head to the front. Looking to party? Head back from the start line.
2023 nutrition & hydration will be powered by Voli Wellness & GU. You’ll be fueled up from start to finish to have your best race! Below we have provided you with the specific locations of the various aid stations to you can have your race plan all mapped out.
