Bib Pickup
You’ll need a race bib to join us at the Half Marathon & SB Independent 5K starting line. We have three options for you:
- FREE Bib Pickup – at Biergarten in the Funk Zone on Friday & Saturday. Come out, grab your bib, visit with a few of our vendors and grab some fuel at one of Santa Barbara’s newest bar & restaurants (plus enjoy 13.1% off your entire check!).
- Bib Mailing – If you purchased the mail my bib option during registration you’ll receive your bib during Race Week. Your finisher shirt will be available for pickup at the finish line on race day. This option is no longer available for purchase.
- Day of Bib Pickup – there is an option to pick up your bib Sunday morning for a $10 convenience fee. You may purchase this option during registration or provide payment on site beginning at 5:30am near the starting line by Shoreline Dr. & Castillo St. Please arrive early to lessen your wait time!
Can’t make it race day and need to transfer to Virtual Runner? Transfers must be completed by Friday, November 5. Virtual Runners do not need to attend bib pickup. All race items will be mailed to you after the event. Learn more on our Virtual Run page.
Please bring your ID or race confirmation email to pick-up your bib. If you need somebody else to pickup you bib, please give them a copy of your ID or race confirmation email.

The races will not be separated into ‘waves’. Please organize yourself amongst the pack according to your estimated pace.
No strollers are allowed on course due to some of the tighter corridors on State Street.

Pace Groups – In the Half Marathon, pacers are currently provided for 1 hour and 30 minutes, 1:45, 2:15 & 2:30 finishing times. Please lookout for the pace group signs if you wish to follow one of them. Thank you to the Santa Barbara Running Association and our community of runners for helping everyone achieve their goals!
Both courses will be run on closed roads throughout downtown Santa Barbara. Aid stations, water and Gatorade Endurance hydration & energy gels (vanilla flavored) will be provided at a couple of locations on the course. You’ll also enjoy nutrition bars at the Finish Line from local company, Ivan Bar! Please visit the course details page or the route map for specific details to plan your race.
